Item Details
The Head Kore 91 W bridges the gap between a frontside ski and a freeride all-mountain ski. It offers a bit more versatility than the narrower Kore 85 W, but it still remains narrow enough to perform very well on groomers while still being able to float through soft snow, crud and other variable conditions. Head decided to further reduce the weight of these skis which is hard to believe, but they still maintain their stability and smoothness overall. The Kore 91 W starts with a Karuba and poplar wood core which then gets enhanced by a number of layers of different composite materials like Carbon, Fiberglass and graphene as well as Head's new Damping Layer which has effectively replaced the layer of Koroyd that was used in previous models. The new Damping Layer further improves vibration damping and reduces the weight of the ski for a lighter, smoother feel throughout. Add in some rocker and taper to what's already a maneuverable ski and man, this thing sure handles quite easily. At 91 millimeters under the boot, the Kore 91 W is a great tool for people who spend a good amount of their time on the groomed stuff, but also like to venture off trail and maybe enjoy some softer snow every now and again. It would be a great daily driver for an advanced to expert skier looking for a versatile ski for day-to-day use.
